Prescott Mini Session in the Cottonwoods

Hi friends!! It has been a while…..a LONG while since I posted a blog!! I hope to do more soon. Life gets nuts. Between moving up to the Prescott area, getting adjusted to having land and remodeling a home, homeschooling, and alllllll the other things, I just got behind on my little photography biz. I have REALLY enjoyed shooting in my backyard! Every day I am in awe of the beauty that God has created and love all of the views of our beautiful cottonwood trees! When we were first looking for properties in the Prescott area, we were looking for a vacation home in the woods. Prescott has some really incredible mountain area homes. We also looked in Prescott Valley and Chino Valley. But then God brought me down Prescott street in Dewey Humboldt and the rest is history!! I saw this gem of a property and fell in love with the view of the cottonwood trees. Little did we know that we would also be blessed with the most amazing neighbors!!

Moving to the Prescott area has been one of the best adventures of our marriage….it came with challenges, but also immense rewards and blessings. We are so thankful to call Dewey Humboldt our home and to have this incredible piece of God’s creation in our backyard!!

These photos were taken right after one of the biggest storms Prescott had summer of 2022. It was CRAZY at my house, complete with hail and strong winds that took down a tree in my front yard!! I texted my friend and told her we would probably have to reschedule our mini session, but then the skies cleared and we had the most beautiful light!! And humidity and mud….but hopefully you can’t see that :) And you definitely cannot see how drenched I was from sweat! Ha!! This was a sweet mini session to celebrate their anniversary and I could not help but get the adorable kiddos in there too! Here are just a few of my faves from their session and I cannot wait to have them in front of my camera again!!

P.S. Mini sessions in my backyard are available year round, but the most beautiful times to shoot with the cottonwood trees are April-November! Each season changes the landscape and the feel of the shoot and I love ALL of it!!
