Kellie + Andrew | Arizona Engagement Session in Prescott
This is Kellie + Andrew. Aren't they adorable together? When I met them for the first time I fell in love with them. That's right, love at first sight! Andrew is a very talented baseball player and an incredible pitcher for the Astros---I still need to get his autograph!! Kellie is a high school special education teacher. As many of you know, I have a special needs son and he is in a special education class at school. He is my world and I admire anyone who has a heart for children like him! Like I said, love at first sight!! After our meeting, I knew that they were the perfect fit for me and my business and I was stoked to be chosen to photograph their perfect day.
Andrew went to college in Prescott so of course we had to venture up there to do their engagement photos! We hiked around the lake and found some gorgeous spots! I had hurt my back the previous day at another wedding and they were so sweet and patient with me as I hobbled around like an 90 year old! Lol!!
I asked Kellie to share a little bit about how they met. She happily obliged! The more I learn about these two, the more I love who they are and the more excited I get to document the most important day of their lives!! Their romantic wedding at the Wigwam Resort in November is going to be amazing!!!
"Andrew and I met our junior year of high school in math class. I was the shy one, while he was the outgoing very cool one… It was rare that I actually stayed awake in math class, until I had math with Andrew. Throughout our junior year we became best friends and inseparable. We spent our time with friends having bon-fires, playing sports, and casually going out to eat. At the end of our junior year, Andrew asked me to go to our junior prom together, as friends of course. It was after prom, that we both realized that we really cared about each other. The summer before our senior year, I was anticipating Andrew asking to make things “official” with me… but he never did. So finally, I took matters into my own hands. I surprised him at one of his baseball games and gave him a ball after one of his games that read, “Andrew, I decided to throw you a curve ball… will you be my catch?” That was the best choice of my life.
I consider myself beyond blessed to have met Andrew at such a young age. Over the last 8 years we’ve experienced so much that has shaped the two of us and our love for each other. We’ve stood by each other’s sides while we chased after our dreams. My dreams of becoming a high school special education teacher and tennis coach, and his of becoming a major league baseball player. Baseball has been a huge aspect of our relationship that I will forever be grateful for. It has brought us to 10 different states, we have met unforgettable people, built lasting relationships, and completely trusted in God’s plan for Andrew and I. We’ve spent more months apart than we have spent together, but we just feel that is what makes our love even more special. Andrew and I always put God at the center of our relationship, allowing us to always trust in one another and enjoy the crazy adventures life throws our way.
Saying “yes” to Andrew’s marriage proposal at the top of Devils Bridge in Sedona, AZ was without a doubt the best choice I’ve made. I cannot wait to see how much more love, happiness, and memories we are going to share together over our lifetime. "
